At age three my mother had a chartreuse colored dress. I have a vivid memory of loving the color. In first grade a teacher wore a dress with a combination of magenta pink, gold, spring green and turqouise blue. I never forgot that color combination. Color is very exciting to me and I enjoy creating designs, then drawing them on canvas and adding color using various mediums, but most often, oils.
Creating colorful worlds is a reflection of my nature and beliefs. I can not imagine my life without faith in Jesus Christ and I can not imagine life without color. Light and beautiful color represent my faith, and the hope that I have.
In 1995 I received an M.F.A. from Illinois State University. During that time I focused on creating works of art using handmade felt. I also created prints in Lithography that I cut and pieced together. Both mediums allowed me to play with color. After college I spent several years working as an Art Director in a small company using a variety of computer programs. Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut and After Effects for example. Currently I am working part-time for Architectural Cathode Lighting, and in my spare time, amongst other things, I paint.
