Michele (Wood) Dodds graduated with an M.F.A. in 1995 from Illinois State University. She concentrated her studies on fiber-felt and printmaking and credits influences such as Casper David Friedrich, De Chirico, M.C. Escher and Dr. Suess. Working with color has been a passion since childhood and enjoys creating imagery from her imagination. Gardens, exploring, season changes, landscapes and flowers are common themes. Michele enjoys creating expressions of peaceful moments, encouraging the viewer to look into the distance, which is symbolic of thinking about God and that vast beyond which we all lack the ability to comprehend in the here and now. Michele is a follower of Jesus Christ and sees her colorful imagery as expressions of the hope she has found. Currently lives in Fullerton, CA with her husband, daughter and three cats.
